The fastest circumnavigation swim around Saint Helena island by a male swimmer is 16 hours 50 minutes 42 seconds, achieved by Ryan Stramrood (South Africa) on 19 March 2026, as ratified by Open Water Africa and the World Open Water Swimming Association.

The first ever circumnavigation swim around Saint Helena, a British overseas territory located in the South Atlantic Ocean, was completed the previous month by Dina Levačić (Croatia) on 26 February 2026, with a time of 17 hours 13 minutes 28 seconds. The distance of the route is approximately 45 km (28 mi), though variable weather conditions around this remote island can considerably increase the challenge of this marathon swim.

This surpassed the previous fastest male swimmer (and the first man to swim around Saint Helena): Angus McPherson (South Africa), with a time of 20 hours 2 minutes 14 seconds on 10 March 2026.
