The fastest time for a woman to climb all 14 of the world's mountains over 8,000 m (26,246 ft) is 92 days by Kristin Harila (Norway), who began the challenge by summiting Shisha Pangma on 26 April 2023 and finished on K2 on 27 July 2023.
Earlier that year, the former cross-country skier had already become the fastest climber - male or female - to ascend the 8,000ers, completing the challenge in just 1 year 5 days with her climb of Cho Oyu on 3 May 2023. With this record, she became only the second woman to conquer the 8,000ers, just a week behind Chinese climber Dong Hong-Juan, who became the first to do on 26 April 2023 with a summit of Shishapangma.
As she continued to climb throughout the year, Harila broke her own 8,000er record, conquering all 14 peaks in a 92-day period.
She was assisted in all 14 of her climbs by Tenjen Lama Sherpa (Nepal), who also claimed the men's record.
