The world's largest sword is 29 m (95 ft) long, weighs 14 tonnes (30,864 lb) and is made from stainless steel. The sword is part of the Motherland sculpture on top of Mamayev Kurgan, Volgograd, Russia.
The total height of the concrete statue is 52 m (170 ft), with the hanging scarf weighing 250 tonnes (55,1155 lbs) alone. Motherland was designed by the sculptor, Yevgeni Vuchetich (Russia) and completed in 1967 and is now part of the memorial to the Battle of Stalingrad (now Volgograd) in August 1942 - February 1943.
