DV Safe Phone is a charity that collects, repairs, and distributes, free of charge, used mobile phones to victims of domestic violence. Salesforce chose DV Safe Phone as their partner charity during a massive tech conference in Sydney, Australia. Salesforce, along with MobileMuster, provided additional support in the way of funding, staffing and organisation on the day of the attempt. MobileMuster is Australia's phone recycling program.

The Salesforce conference had over 10,000 attendees, all with the aim of learning current tech innovations, listening to keynote speakers and business to business networking. The record attempt took place at the "Giving Back" zone where attendees could be educated about DV Safe Phone as well as test multiple phones which would be donated at a later date. The testing procedure included checking first if the phone is capable of charing/power, then running through 10+ checks including SIM capability, speaker/microphone functionality, screen damage and more. Of the 1,289 phones tested, 626 passed and 663 failed.
