In chronological order, Oda achieved the feat at the French Open (2023), Wimbledon (2023), Australian Open (2024), Paralympic Games (2024) and US Open (2025). At Flushing Meadows in New York City, Oda defeated Argentina’s Gustavo Fernández – his doubles partner – 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (13-11) in the final to claim a seventh major singles title.
Niels Vink (b. 6 December 2002) was previously the youngest wheelchair player to complete a Career Golden Slam, aged 20 years 52 days on winning the Australian Open quad doubles with Sam Schröder on 27 January 2023. Oda may well have bagged a “Career Golden Slam” in 2024, at the age of 18, had the US Open’s wheelchair events not been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts with the 2024 Paralympic Games. At 19, Oda already holds multiple world records, including the youngest winner of a Grand Slam wheelchair singles title (male), the youngest wheelchair tennis player to be ranked world No.1 and the youngest Grand Slam singles winner on all three surfaces (male), beating Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal to the accolade.
