As per IISA rules, an ice swim must take place in water that is 5.0°C (41.0°F) or colder, with only a standard swimming costume, goggles and swimming cap permitted.
At the same event, Lambrechts also claimed the 500-m record, with a swim time of 8 minutes 59.71 seconds.
