The fastest crossing of Loch Ness by mono water ski (Fort Augustus to Lochend, male) is 32 min 15 sec and achieved by McConachie Ewan (UK), in Scotland, UK, on 5 May 2026.

Ewan McConachie decided to attempt for this Guinness World Records title, inspired by a historic 1974 crossing by David Scott Munro of the Ross-shire Caberfeidh Water Ski Club. McConachie has a personal connection to the original achievement, as his father, William McConachie, drove the support boat during the 1974 run.

Having grown up in the sport, McConachie undertook the challenge to complete the route and improve on the previous time. Reflecting on his motivation, he said: ‘My goal was not only to complete the run but at a faster pace than before.’

His preparation included months of training in Scottish winter conditions, focusing on strength and technique. The attempt was completed from Fort Augustus to Loch End in 32 minutes and 15 seconds under favourable weather and water conditions.
