The fastest circumnavigation of Ireland by personal watercraft (team) is 13 days 8 hours, achieved by Neil Laughton (team leader), Tim Maw, Rory Mackenzie and Mark Shoosmith (all UK), who jetskied around the island of Ireland starting and ending in Belfast Harbour, between 5 and 18 August 2017.
As part of the challenge, which covered around 1,500 km (930 mi) around the coast of Ireland, the team also raised funds for two charities: Help for Heroes and the RNLI.
British Army veteran Mackenzie is believed to be the first above-knee amputee to have achieved a PWC circumnavigation of Ireland.
Previously in August 2000, Laughton and Maw completed the fastest (and likely first) circumnavigation of the British mainland by personal watercraft: 23 days 5 hours. On this epic jetski journey, they were joined by bushcraft TV expert Bear Grylls and Ed Christopher (both UK) at various points along the way.
