The most penalties scored by a player at the FIFA World Cup is 4, achieved by Eusébio (Portugal, b. Mozambique) in 1966; and equalled by Rob Rensenbrink (Netherlands) in 1978; Gabriel Batistuta (Argentina) in 1994 and 1998; Harry Kane (UK) in 2018 and 2022; and Lionel Messi (Argentina) in 2018 and 2022.

Both Eusébio and Rob Rensenbrink scored their four penalties at a single tournament and boasted a 100% record. Batistuta also never missed a World Cup penalty. Harry Kane scored four from five and Lionel Messi four from six. These records do not include penalty shootouts, which take place after the game has officially ended.
