The largest set of Mahjong measures 100 cm (3 ft 3.4 in) in length, 75 cm (2 ft 5.5 in) in width and 50 cm (1 ft 7.7 in) in height and was achieved by Shenzhen Longhua Uniworld (China) in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China, on 25 October 2025.
The organiser, Shenzhen Longhua Uniworld, is the largest shopping mall in Shenzhen, with a total construction area of 600,000 square metres. Its marketing strategy centres around the concept of “the largest”. This record attempt was held to celebrate the mall’s 8th anniversary.
Mahjong, a highly popular traditional Chinese strategy game featuring 136 tiles with various motifs and Chinese characters, served as the creative inspiration. One of its tiles, 發 (“Fa”) symbolises wealth and prosperity, aligning perfectly with the campaign’s dual themes of “the largest” and “getting rich". Also, number 8 is lucky number in Chinese culture, so all Mahjong's front face is embodied number 8 and echo organizer's 8th anniversary.
