The official certificate was presented directly to Abel Avellan, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of AST SpaceMobile (leading the company since May 2017 after previously founding EMC). Abel is leading the development of these space-based cellular broadband networks designed to connect standard, unmodified mobile phones directly via LEO satellites. This project is also supported by major global telecommunications partners, including AT&T, Vodafone, Verizon, and Rakuten.
