The longest swim with fins and swim aids by a female swimmer (AA3) is 20.4 km (12.7 mi), by Kerry-Lee Gockel (Australia) in Great Keppel Island (Wop-pa), Queensland, Australia, on 21 August 2025, as ratified by the Keppel Islands Swimming Association.

The swim duration was 6 hours 24 minutes 45 seconds.

Gockel, who was born without arms owing to congenital amelia and has come to be known as the "Wingless Warrior", wore flippers and was accompanied by a companion swimmer (Joep Buijs) who solely provided assistance with food and drink when Gockel paused for a nutrition break.

Prior to this, the greatest distance that the avid open-water swimmer had swam in one go is 10 km (6.2 mi) when she swam the Island Charity Swim from Mudjimba Beach to Mudjimba Island (Old Woman Island) to Mooloolaba Beach on Queensland's Sunshine Coast; she first completed this swim on 7 May 2022 and then again on 11 June 2023. She covered a similar distance in 2024 as part of a duo relay swim with her husband, Paul Gockel, when the pair took turns to cover the c. 20-km route around Great Keppel Island, swimming half the distance each.
