The longest serving head of a Christian church was Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom (1819-1901). From when she first ascended the throne on 20 June 1837, until her death on 22 January 1901, she was head of the Church of England for 63 years 217 days.  Born 24 May 1819, died 22 January 1901. She accended the throne following the death of her uncle William IV. Queen Victoria Hanover of England is the longest serving British royal ever and the years of her reign are often refered to as the Victorian Age.
