The largest seasonal seed storage collection is 95.621 tonnes and was achieved by General Administration of Natural Rangelands, National Center for Vegetation Cover Development & Combating Desertification (KSA), in Al Jawf, Saudi Arabia, on 21 October 2025.
The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) seeks to achieve the goals of Saudi Green Initiative and Vision 2030 by providing large quantities of native plant seeds to meet the Kingdom's needs for seeds for reseeding to rehabilitate degraded rangelands.
To obtain the largest quantity of wild plant seeds, these seeds were collected from 31 plant species belonging to 8 families from various habitats in Saudi Arabia in the current year (2025) and were temporarily stored in properly prepared facilities to ensure the viability of these plants until the time of planting.
