The largest collection of tourism brochures is 1,355, and was achieved by Georgios Kipouros (Greece), in Athens, Greece, on 6 September 2025.
Georgios has a much larger collection of over 10,000 tourism brochures but wanted to showcase a smaller handpicked selection of brochures for the attempt, focusing on a wide range of different destinations.
His collection started around 25 years ago through his career as a travel journalist, where he had access to very unique materials.
When discussing his favourite brochures, Georgios says:
"Several pieces stand out for rarity and cultural value, for example a 1930s French Riviera brochure that evokes pre-war European travel, and a 1970s Intourist brochure that illustrates how the Soviet Union curated and propangated its public image.
My personal favourite is a first-edition brochure from Bhutan, acquired during reporting in the early 2000s. Its craftsmanship and emphasis on monasteries and festivals reflect Bhutan’s careful, culturally rooted approach to tourism at the time."
