The youngest winner of a FIFA men’s international football (soccer) tournament is Gilberto Mora (Mexico, b. 14 October 2008), who was aged 16 years 265 days when he won the CONCACAF Gold Cup in Houston, Texas, USA, on 6 July 2025.
Sixteen-year-old midfielder Gilberto Mora started for Mexico in the 2025 Gold Cup final, when “EL Tri” overcame the USA 2–1. It was only his third senior international appearance, having made his debut in the quarter-finals. Mora surpassed the record of Lamine Yamal, who had triumphed at the 2024 UEFA European Championships aged 17 years 1 day.
