The attempt was part of a larger festival that included a millennia-old “Lake Worship & Net Awakening” ceremony, large-scale ice fishing, a head fish auction, and various ice and snow Nadam activities. The event attracted tens of thousands of visitors nationwide. Notably, this year’s head fish was auctioned for 660,000 RMB (70,000 GBP) by Yili Group, with all proceeds donated to charity.
