The longest table made from recycled materials is 5,055.80 m (16,587 ft 3.24 in) and was achieved by Bloom The World (Romania) in Bucharest, Romania, on 12 September 2026.
Bloom The World broke its own record, surpassing the 2,782.968 m mark set in Alba Iulia, Romania, in 2025.
The 2026 attempt took place in Constitution Square, Bucharest, in front of the Palace of Parliament, and brought together around 20,000 people for a free community meal.
The event aimed to raise awareness and funds for a new children’s hospital in Romania, with the record attempt generating national interest and wide media coverage.
The table was made using previously used materials, including donated wooden pallets and chipboard. Following the attempt, the organisers planned to reuse the materials to create children’s furniture.
The record-breaking event was designed to show what can be achieved when thousands of people come together behind a shared cause.
