The first woman to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean from Europe to South America (mainland to mainland) is Zara Lachlan (UK), who completed the row from Lagos in Portugal to Cayenne in French Guiana on 1 February 2025.

This record was ratified by the Ocean Rowing Society International (ORSI). In completing her row, Zara (b. 2 April 2003) was also the youngest woman to row across any ocean, aged 21 years 208 days at her departure.
