The most shoelaces tied in a bow in three minutes is 84 and was achieved by Alvaro Martin Mendieta (Spain), in Rivas Vaciamadrid, Madrid, Spain on 16 November 2025.
This new Guinness World Records title has been achieved thanks to Alvaro's speediness at tying shoelaces into a bow. In just 3 minutes, he managed to tie over 80 laced shoes. One can say that Alvaro is somewhat of a 'shoelace' expert as he also holds the Guinness World Records title for 'Fastest time to lace a shoe with one hand' with 25.49 seconds and 'Most shoelaces tied in a bow blindfolded in one minute' with 27 shoelaces!
In order to qualify as a secure bow, the knot tying the two loops must not have a gap big enough to fit the end of the shoelace. Moreover, each shoelace must be tied securely to count towards the final total.
