The biennial International Motor Show for Passenger Cars (IAA), held in Frankfurt, Germany, is the world's largest automotive exhibition. The 2001 event, from 13–23 September, attracted over 1,000 exhibitors from 39 countries and covered an area of 235,000 m² (2.5 million ft²). It was attended by around 13,600 journalists from 75 countries and around 800,000 people.
