Largest gathering of people dressed as screen characters

The largest gathering of people dressed as screen characters is 874 and was achieved by the Old Royal Naval College and Elstree Studios in Greenwich, UK, on 27th September 2025

The attempt took part inside the iconic venue ‘The Old Royal Naval College’ located in Greenwich where the attempt was being held as part of a site wide event celebrating 100 YEARS OF FILM & TV.

To host the event, the Old Royal Naval College team partnered with Elstree Studios, a historic and prominent British film and television production facility.

Hundreds of participants attended the site from all over the UK, wearing their chosen characters costumes. This family event featured everything you could imagine, from mini-Jack Sparrows, to multiple groups of stormtroopers, giant batman costumes, beautiful Bridgeton outfits and lots more, we even witnessed multiple generations attending together in matching princess Leia outfits.

After the costumes went through the verification process, the participants where gathered in the main square where the announcement was made and celebrations begun.

Another successful day in the Guinness World Records history books with 874 people!
