On 25 February 2018, Bjørgen won her 15th medal overall with gold in the women’s mass start classic in Pyeongchang, South Korea. This is the most medals won at a Winter Olympics by any athlete, male or female.
Bjørgen medalled at five consecutive Winter Olympics, amassing a tally of eight golds, four silvers and three bronze. She won five medals at two different games: in 2010 (three golds, a silver and a bronze) and 2018 (two golds, a silver and two bronze).
