On 25 January 2025, “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” (“If I Had Met You Before”) by Karol G (Colombia, b. Carolina Giraldo Navarro) notched up a 26th week at No.1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart. In doing so, it smashed a record that had stood for almost 20 years, dating back to when “La Tortura” by Shakira and Alejandro Sanz crowned Latin Airplay for 25 non-consecutive weeks between 4 June and 3 December 2005. “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” first topped the chart on 27 July 2024.

Latin Airplay ranks the most popular songs on Spanish-language radio stations across the USA. It was first published on 20 October 2012, when it adopted the chart methodology of Hot Latin Songs and, retroactively, its chart history dating back to 12 November 1994.

Karol G had logged 18 No.1s on Latin Airplay as of 25 January 2025 – second only to Shakira’s 24 No.1s among female artists.

Karol G’s longest-running chart-topper before “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” was 2020’s “Tusa”, a duet with Nicki Minaj, which spent five weeks at the top.
