According to the latest figures published in 2022 in the World Health Organization's Global Status Report on Blood Safety and Availability 2021, 5,170 units of blood per 100,000 population were donated in Cyprus in 2018. The next two highest per-capita blood-giving countries were Germany (with 5,109 units per 100,000 in 2015) and Greece (4,669 units per 100,000 in 2015).
In terms of total blood donated by country, China came out on top based on the same dataset, with 13,700,619 units of blood received in 2018; though by capita, this equates only to 967 units per 100,000 population.
