Nintendo's Gameboy Advance is powered by a 32-bit ARM chip with embedded memory. It has a 40.8 x 61.2 mm colour screen with a resolution of 240x160 pixels. Games are run from cartridges. The console measures just 82 x 144.5 x 24.5 mm and weighs just 140 g. It can be connected to three other Gameboy Advances for multiplay and is also designed to be used as a control pad for the Nintendo GameCube. It was launched in Japan on 21 March 2001 and in the US on 11 June 2001.
