WKMA was founded in 2020 in Chennai, India by Master S. Bala Murugan, MCA. He is also the current president of the association. WKMA is a welfare/association aimed at the welfare, unity, and promotion of karate masters along with social causes.

The primary objective of the association is to help karate professionals achieve recognition, standard income, and a professional lifestyle comparable to other professions. It also acts as a social-impact organisation, working on women’s rights and children’s safety, anti-drug awareness, health and mental health campaigns and other social issues.

WKMA also runs seminars, judge and coach training exams, competitions, and tournaments. It also organizes free self-defence programs, volunteer initiatives, and campaigns in social causes.

The record was attempted with the aim of making martial arts accessible to every citizen, promoting its value in enhancing personal safety and fostering a healthy lifestyle. This initiative also served to raise awareness of the association and advance its mission and cause within the broader community.
