The youngest female to swim 1 km in Antarctic waters is Marion Joffle (France, b. 9 March 1999), who was aged 24 years 352 days when she completed the swim near Port Lockroy on Wiencke Island off the Antarctic Peninsula on 24 February 2024. The swim was ratified by the International Ice Swimming Association.
Joffle's swim lasted for 15 minutes 42 seconds and the water temperature was 1°C (34°F).
She also holds the record for being the youngest female to swim 1 km in Arctic waters, aged 23 years 56 days when she swam in Svalbard, Norway, on 4 May 2022.
