Frank Nsubuga, a 43-year-old spin-bowling all-rounder from Uganda, returned figures of 4-2-4-2 (four overs, two maidens, four runs, two wickets) in a Men’s T20 World Cup group match against Papua New Guinea (PNG) at Providence Stadium, Guyana, on 5 June 2024. The most miserly spell of four overs in the history of the tournament helped restrict PNG to 77 all out.

Nsubuga, the second-oldest player to appear at the Men’s T20 World Cup, also holds the record for the most maiden overs in a T20 International career – 17, from 190.5 overs bowled since 2019. His 2024 World Cup heroics against PNG was the first time he’d bowled two maidens in a four-over spell, but he’s become something of a specialist at squeezing the life out of opposition batters in the shortest form of the game with previous spells of 4-1-5-2 vs Rwanda in 2021, 4-1-7-2 vs Kenya in 2021, and 4-1-4-2 vs Tanzania in 2022.

He’s conceded 915 runs and taken 57 wickets in the 190.5 overs he’s bowled in his 56 matches to date (21 November 2024).
