The first parent-child pairing to walk away with gold in a professional pickleball doubles tournament is mother and daughter Leigh Waters and Anna Leigh Waters (both USA) at the 2019 Florida Grand Slam Open in Bonita Springs, Florida, USA, on 24 February 2019.

The Waters defeated the top-ranking pairing of Simone Jardim and Corrine Carr in straight sets 3-0. Even more incredibly, Anna Leigh (b. 26 January 2007) was only aged 12 years 29 days on the day of the victory, making her the youngest professional pickleball champion overall to date.
