Suzie Bates (New Zealand) has scored 1,216 runs at the Women’s T20 World Cup, in 42 matches across all nine tournaments between 2009 and 2024. At Dubai International Cricket Stadium, United Arab Emirates, on 20 October 2024, the all-rounder contributed 32 runs at the top of the order as New Zealand (158 for 5) finally got their hands on the trophy, against South Africa (126 for 9) in the final.
Bates has chalked up her T20 World Cup runs at an average of 31.17 runs per innings. Second and third on the tournament’s top run-scorers chart are two players who also featured in the UAE in 2024: West Indies all-rounder Stafanie Taylor (1,014 runs) and Australia’s batter/wicket-keeper Alyssa Healy (1,008 runs).
The 2024 final also marked Bates’ 334th international cap for New Zealand in ODIs (163) and T20Is (171) combined, taking her ahead of Mithali Raj, who won 333 ODI, T20I and Test caps for India in 1999–2022. As of 29 October 2024, Bates had extended her record to 337 international caps.
