Japan (25) and Singapore (24) hit an aggregate total of 49 fours during an Asian Cricket Council Men’s Challenger Cup match at Bangkok’s Terdthai Cricket Ground in Thailand on 11 February 2024. It tied a record set just 75 days earlier, by India (23) and Australia (26) at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, Assam, India, on 28 November 2023.
Four days after the boundary-fest in Bangkok, in an East Asia Cup match against China in Hong Kong, Japan set another T20 International (T20I) record when openers Lachlan Yamamoto-Lake (134 not out) and captain Kendel Kadowaki-Fleming (109 not out) propelled their team to 258 without loss in 20 overs – the highest partnership for any wicket in a T20I (male).
