It witnessed classic ties such as Italy’s 4–3 win over West Germany in the 1970 semi-final, dubbed the “Game of the Century”, and Argentina’s 2–1 win over England in the 1986 quarter-final, where Diego Maradona scored his “Hand of God” goal and also with a spectacular dribble later voted FIFA’s Goal of the Century.
