First AI-powered music streaming platform

The AI-powered music streaming platform Melodio was launched by Kunlun Tech (China) in August 2024. Melodio is powered by SkyMusic 2.0 technology, touted as “the industry’s first AI music model capable of consistently and stably generating endless music feed in specific styles”. It instantaneously offers users customised, AI-generated streams tailored specifically to their moods and scenarios, from mellow tunes for a relaxing coffee break to high-energy anthems for music-lovers behind the wheel. Melodio was announced alongside Mureka, an AI music-generation platform designed for commercial use.

SkyMusic 2.0 supports a lyrical input of over 500 characters, and is capable of generating stereo songs up to six minutes in length. Kunlun claims to have an average monthly active user base of 400 million across the “AGI, AIGC, content distribution, metaverse, social entertainment and gaming sectors”.
