Santos’s victories in the Taça Brasil (1961–65) and Torneio Roberto Gomes Pedrosa (1968) tournaments were officially recognized as Brazilian championship titles by the Brazilian Football Confederation in 2010. With Pelé as their talisman, Santos become one of the most celebrated club sides in football, winning the Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental Cup in both 1962 and 1963.
