The fastest time to complete the IRONMAN® World Championship (male) (LA1, LA2) is 14 hr 23 min 56 sec and was achieved by Billy Monger (UK) in Kona, Hawaii, USA, on 26 October 2024.
Billy took on this challenge in support of Comic Relief 2024's fundraising efforts. He trained hard for 12 months in preparation for the event, and despite facing jellyfish stings and harsh weather conditions, he was able to finish in record-breaking time!
Billy's legs were amputated - one above and one below the knee - following a racing crash in 2017.
