Hans Fischer (Canada) was propelled to a speed of 98 km/h (60.9 mph) on in-line skates by his MotoRoller 'personal transportation' machine at Cayuga Dragway, Ontario, Canada, on 28 October 2001. The MotoRoller is essentially a Harley Davidson motorcycle engine mounted on a custom designed wheeled frame. The skater is pushed forwards whilst controlling the throttle and brakes with handlebars that jut out in front of the engine.
Fischer has patented his invention and established a company called the MotoRoller Company Ltd. He hopes that his invention will take off and create a popular new extreme sport.
