The largest 3D-printed biodegradable building (monolithic) is Foresting Architecture (Seeds Paper Pavilion) which measures 4.684 m (15 ft 4.4 in) in length,4.684 m (15 ft 4.4 in) in width and 3.357 m (11 ft) in height and was achieved by TAKENAKA CORPORATION and Daicel Corporation (both Japan) at the EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan venue in Yumeshima, Osaka, Japan on 25 October 2024.
The client is Takenaka Corporation a one of the biggest construction contractors in Japan and Daicel Corporation a chemical and material company. Daicel was responsible for preparing the biodegradable building material which was their own product called CAFBLO which comes from cellulose and considered as biodegradable plastic. Takenaka was in other hand responsible for constructing (for this record, 3D printing) the building with their technology and know-how of handling this type of materials.
This was the first record achievement happening for the Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan.
