The oldest public service vehicle (PSV) license holder on record is Kenneth Perry (b. 11 July 1919) of Gwent, Wales, who continues to drive children to school each day in a 53-seater coach. In the UK, PSV license holders are required to undergo a strict medical examination each year to have their licence renewed once they reach the age of 60.
Perry founded the transport company Ken Perry Sons with one Hackney carriage vehicle in 1942, and today the company has a fleet of 20 vehicles. Despite his advanced age he drives his bus, which is 12 m (39.37 ft) long, along tortuous roads in the Welsh valleys.
