On 11 April 2001 Constantine Wilson of the rifle display team New Guard America successfully spun a US 1903-A3 rifle through four complete revolutions in one second. The weapon used was a complete rifle with a fixed bayonet and a cloth sling. The overall weight of the weapon was 4.4 kg (9 lb 12.25 oz) and the blade length of the bayonet was 24 cm (9.5 in).

Method: The weapon is spun continuously using one hand for five seconds, then the total is divided by five to get the average spin count per second.  Up to four spins are allowed before time begins to build momentum.  The performer's hand is in contact with the weapon at each rotation of the weapon.  The performer must be in total control of the weapon throughout the attempt.
