The full course was 171.29 km (106.46 miles) and started at 5:30am. The course followed a route from Maitama along Airport Road and back to Asokoro in Abuja, with the circuit distance certified at just over 100 miles to ensure the minimum requirement was clearly exceeded. The ride was completed in a single continuous effort, with only short bathroom, nutrition, and mechanical stops allowed under the guidelines, and verified using a Garmin cycling computer alongside independent witnesses from the national cycling community. Conditions on the day were demanding, with temperatures rising significantly from 30 to 42 degrees and making hydration and heat‑management a key focus for the support team throughout the attempt.
