France's Jordy (b. Jordy Lemoine, 14 January 1988) was just 5 years 156 days old when “Dur dur d’être bébé! (It's Tough to Be a Baby)” debuted at No.82 on the Billboard Hot 100 on 19 June 1993.

“Dur dur d’être bébé!” spent 15 consecutive weeks at No.1 on France’s SNEP singles chart in 1992–93, securing the pint-sized pop star the title of the world’s youngest chart-topping solo artist. On 17 October 1992 (the song’s first week at No.1), Jordy was 4 years 277 days old.

“Dur dur d’être bébé!” resided on the US Hot 100 for a total of nine weeks, peaking at No.58 three weeks after making its debut.

In Jordy’s homeland, its reign as the country’s best-seller was cut short on 30 January 1993 by Whitney Houston’s monster hit “I Will Always Love You”, which was then knocked off the top spot by Jordy’s second No.1, “Alison (C’est ma copine à moi)”, a five-week chart-topper that would prove to be his final visit to the Top 10 – in France or anywhere else.

Now 36 (as of April 2024), Jordy’s other main claim to fame is winning Season 2 (2005) of La Ferme Célébrités, the French version of the reality TV show The Farm. His €180,000 prize, for beating 14 other celebrities including singer Plastic Bertrand, former tennis player Henri Leconte and Miss France 1987 Nathalie Marquay, was donated to a Parkinson’s disease charity.
