An explosion sequence involving the destruction of six ships each measuring 120-185 m (400-600 ft) during the bombing scene at the end of the film Pearl Harbor (USA, 2001) cost $5.5 million (£3,850,000). Filmed by 12 camera teams, the explosion took one month to rig and required 700 sticks of dynamite, 610 m (2,000 ft) of primer cord and 18,185 liters (4,000 gallons) of gasoline.
