British actors Stephen Graham (2013, 2019 and 2022) and Matthew Macfadyen (2010, 2022 and 2024) have both attracted three nominations in the British Academy (BAFTA) Television Awards’ Supporting Actor category. Graham was recognised for playing Tony in Series 2 of Accused (BBC), Fabio “Melon” Melonzola in Save Me (Sky Atlantic) and Eric McNally in Series 1 of Time (BBC). Macfadyen is the category’s most successful actor, winning in 2010 for his role as barrister Joe Miller in Series 2 of Criminal Justice (BBC), and in 2022 for playing Tom Wambsgans in the US comedy-drama Succession (HBO/Sky Atlantic). He matched Graham’s three nominations on 20 March 2024, making the shortlist once again for Succession.
