The first female finisher of the Barkley Marathon is Jasmin Paris (UK), at the 2024 Barkley Marathons in Tennessee, USA, on 22 March 2024.

Paris finished with just 99 seconds to spare before the 60-hour cut off.

Only 20 people have ever completed the race within the allotted time since it was extended to 100 miles in 1989. Runners have to not only cover the mammoth distance over harsh terrain, but also roughly 60,000 ft of elevation and descent, all while collecting books along the unmarked course and removing pages corresponding to their race number!
