Meryl Streep (USA, b. Mary Streep) received the 33rd Golden Globe Awards nomination of her career on 11 December 2023, for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role on Television, after playing Loretta Durkin in Season Three of the comedy-drama series Only Murders in the Building (Hulu, USA, 2021-).

Alongside Barbra Streisand and Tom Hanks, Streep is an eight-time winner at the Golden Globes - excluding the honorary Cecil B DeMille Award.

Only Murders in the Building – also starring Steve Martin, Selena Gomez and Martin Short – was Streep’s fourth TV nomination at the Golden Globes, with the other 29 for her film work. Among her eight trophies are Best Actress wins for The French Lieutenant’s Woman (1981), Sophie’s Choice (1982), Angels in America (2003 – TV), The Devil Wears Prada (2006), Julie & Julia (2009) and The Iron Lady (2011).

Ahead of the 81st Golden Globe Awards on 7 January 2024, Streep extended her lead over American composer/conductor John Williams (26 nods) as the most nominated individual in Golden Globes history. Jack Lemmon (22), Shirley MacLaine (20) and Al Pacino (19) are the next best-placed actors on the list.
