Quincy Jones (USA) had won 28 Grammy awards from 80 nominations, as of 4 February 2024. The multi-skilled musician’s track record of success at music’s most celebrated awards show spans 55 years. Jones (b. 14 March 1933) picked up his first trophy at the 6th Grammy Awards on 12 May 1964, winning Best Instrumental Arrangement for Count Basie’s rendition of “I Can’t Stop Loving You”. At the 61st Grammys on 10 February 2019, Jones landed Best Music Film for the 2018 Netflix documentary film Quincy, written and directed by Alan Hicks and Rashida Jones.

As of 4 February 2024 (at the end of the 66th awards ceremony), Jones had won more Grammys than any other living male artist – two ahead of the 26 awards won by the American composer/conductor John Williams (who took home the award for Best Instrumental Composition in 2024). Only Beyoncé (32) and conductor Sir Georg Solti (1912–97; 31) have won more Grammys overall.

Jones, who has won some of his awards as an arranger or a performing artist, has also received special recognition at three Grammys ceremonies, taking home the Trustees Award (1989), the Grammy Legend Award (1991) and a statuette for the MusiCares Person of the Year (1996).

American producer David Frost increased his tally of awards from 22 to 24 (from 34 nominations) at the 66th awards in Los Angeles, California, USA, on 4 February 2024, making him the second-most successful producer at the Grammys in terms of awards won.
