Born 3 September 1986, Shaun White (USA) commenced his second year competing as a pro snowboarder in November 2000. That makes Shaun the youngest professional halfpipe competitor in the world. Shaun first proved himself worldwide as the 1998 USASA National Overall Champion, and in February 2000, he placed third in Japan's Nippon Open and 6th in a Volcom slope-style event. His likeness appears in CoolBoarders4, the PlayStation video game that he helped design (footage of Shaun and other riders was used to create the video characters). Shaun, who resides in San Diego, California, USA, also excels in skateboarding and surfing, and began snowboarding when he was only 6 years old. He is described by many as "the future of snowboarding."
