Most visual effects credits for a movie

The movie with the most visual effects credits on IMDb is Avengers: Infinity War (USA, 2018), which had a total of 2,659 VFX professionals associated with it as of 16 January 2024. This represents more than half of the total credits list, which includes 5,109 names.

The issue of how VFX artists are credited is a controversial topic in Hollywood. It has been estimated that the total workforce involved in the production of Infinity War may have been as high as 10,000 people, but many would have been only peripherally involved in the production. The question of how (or whether) to credit a person who, for example, edited mesh files for background objects in a 3D rendering, is still being discussed by Hollywood Unions, studios and advocacy groups.
