At the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on 1 February 2026, Chris Stapleton (USA) won a record-extending sixth trophy – his third in a row – in the Best Country Solo Performance category. The Kentucky native’s latest winner, “Bad as I Used to Be”, from the soundtrack to F1 the Movie (2025), followed in the footsteps of “It Takes a Woman” (2025), “White Horse” (2024), “You Should Probably Leave” (2022), “Either Way” (2018) and “Traveller” (2016).

Carrie Underwood (2013 and 2015), Darius Rucker (2014), Maren Morris (2017), Kacey Musgraves (2019), Willie Nelson (2020 and 2023) and Vince Gill (2021) – country music’s most decorated Grammys recipient with 22 awards from 48 nominations – have all won Best Country Solo Performance, which was first presented to Taylor Swift in 2012.

Chris Stapleton’s tally of Grammy awards increased to 12 (from 26 nominations) at the conclusion of the 68th edition in 2026. He won his first two statuettes in 2016, for his debut studio album Traveller (2015) and its title track.
